When you get your denial letter it doesn't mean it's game over. With Miller Roofing & Siding we're well knowledgeable with insurance carriers' language and knowing what they're exactly supposed to cover under your policy. Below we will go over the steps on getting you covered for what you pay for.
- We will send out one of our well-trained specialists to do an inspection of your property. After conducting a full inspection, our guys will put together a file of photos of damage they found.
- We will then send all photos to the office for our team to write up a supplement of all the items that were damaged that should've been written up from the initial insurance inspection.
- The office team will then send the supplement and photos of the damage that was found to your insurance carrier to request a reinspection with another adjuster. (Reason being some may have a different opinion). Once sent to your carrier it can take them up to 2-3 weeks to review.
- Getting a Re-inspection scheduled with a new adjuster. Re-inspections are never guaranteed, your carrier can still deny a re-inspection. If this happens, please go to step 8
- We will be present at the Re-Inspection to make sure we show the adjuster all the damage we have found that they did not write up. This will also clear things up and we will be able to judge were they stand on writing up the estimate.
- After the Re-Inspection has been completed, it can take 1-10 business days for them to write up a new estimate. After you receive your estimate, we will evaluate it to make sure they wrote up everything correctly and did not miss anything.
- After reviewing the estimate and all is correctly, we then can proceed to product/color selection and getting you on the schedule.
- If getting denied a Re-Inspection or still being denied after the Re-Inspection the next steps are contacting the supervisor of your claims adjuster. If they are still not budging, then we proceed to the Appraisal Process.
- Appraisal Process. This process can take anywhere from 3-12 weeks (Appraisal is the insured hiring their own appraiser to represent them, the insurance carrier will also hire an appraiser to represent them. The two appraisers will then select an umpire (Mediator). The three together are called the panel. Basically, an out of court litigation.
- The panel will schedule a day to do a final inspection. All three will meet out on your property and we will be present with them. After conducting a final inspection. The panel will have a closed meeting afterwards to discuss their decision. The umpire is on neither side and is there to help make a decision on damages that are found. After they have come to a conclusion, there will be an Award that will be signed.
- Once there has been an award, there is no changing or going back to adding things. It will be final. We will then send that award to your carrier. Depending on the award they will be obligated to pay for the damages.
- You will then be able to select product/colors, and we will get you on the schedule.
